|||Bail conditions imposed on Durban businesswoman Shauwn Mpisane were relaxed by the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Mpisane, who faces charges of fraud, forgery and uttering involving R4.7 million, will no longer be required to report to a Durban police station every Friday.
Mpisane’s advocate, Jimmy House, asked the court to relax his client's bail conditions, as there were times when she was required to be away from the city.
Mpisane is out on bail of R50 000 and will appear again in the Durban Magistrate's Court on February 27 when it will be ascertained whether April 25 will be suitable for her trial to start.
Mpisane owns Zikhulise Cleaning, Maintenance and Transport CC and Ukhozi Civil Cleaning and Construction. The State alleges she submitted false invoices to claim VAT.
Mpisane and her husband Sbu Mpisane, a former metro policeman, are known for being super-rich and have a fleet of cars that include a Rolls Royce Phantom and Lamborghinis. – Sapa
