An 18-year-old man who raped a 12-year-old boy was sentenced to 10 years' jail by the Vryheid Regional Court.
|||Vryheid - An 18-year-old man who raped a 12-year-old boy was sentenced to 10 years' jail by the Vryheid Regional Court on Wednesday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The 12-year-old was at his house in Vryheid on the evening of January 1, 2012, when Nkululeko Buthelezi called him to the nearby veld and raped him, Captain Thulani Zwane said.
“The victim screamed for help and his friend came to his rescue. The accused fled the scene.”
The victim reported the attack to his parents and a case of rape was opened. Buthelezi was arrested and denied bail until he was convicted and sentenced. - Sapa
