There’ll be disciplinary action against two pupils who fraudulently tried to register for shcool.
|||While the State has declined to prosecute two teenagers arrested while trying to register for grade 9 with fraudulent school reports, the Education Department is set to take disciplinary action against them, MEC Senzo Mchunu said on Thursday.
He said the department would not pursue the matter further in court.
Police spokesman Thulani Zwane said that Folweni officers had received information on Wednesday about pupils with fake school reports.
On arrival at Ntwenhle High School in Folweni, the officers found the two pupils, aged 15 and 16, trying to register for grade 9. “They claimed that the reports were from Khayelihle High School, which they had previously attended in Umbumbulu.
However, authorities at Khayelihle High School refuted claims that the school reports had been issued by them.”
The Education Department said action would be taken against any employees found to be involved in such fraud. - The Mercury
